(1)Microcrystalline wax,(with other names of micro wax,ceresin wax,ceresine wax,ozokerite wax,micro crystalline wax)are a type of wax produced by de-oiling petrolatum, as part of the petroleum refining process. In contrast to the more familiar paraffin wax which contains mostly unbranched alkanes, microcrystalline wax contains a higher percentage of isoparaffinic (branched) hydrocarbons and naphthenic hydrocarbons.

(2)It is characterized by the fineness of its crystals in contrast to the larger crystal of paraffin wax. It consists of high molecular weight saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons. It is generally darker, more viscous, denser, tackier and more elastic than paraffin waxes, and has a higher molecular weight and melting point.

(3)The elastic and adhesive characteristics of microcrystalline waxes are related to the non-straight chain components

Typical microcrystalline wax crystal structure is small and thin, making them more flexible than paraffin wax. It is commonly used in cosmetic formulations.

(1)Microcrystalline wax has good oil absorption performance, can form a stable and uniform paste with many solvents and waxes, and has emulsification, can be used as shoe polish, automotive wax, polishing wax, floor wax, polishing wax, Chinese pills,protective agents, candles, wax toys, dental materials and cosmetics and other processing AIDS.
(2)The main function of microcrystalline wax in cosmetics and skin care products is adhesive and emulsifying stabilizer, which is relatively safe and can be used with confidence. It generally has no effect on pregnant women, and microcrystalline wax does not cause acne.
