Dipropylene glycol, also known as bispropylene glycol, 1,1'-oxydi-2-propanol, 4-oxaheptane-2,6-diol, 2-hydroxypropyl ether, 2,2'-dihydroxydipropyl ether, abbreviated as DPG, is a colorless, odorless, sweet-tasting, water-soluble and hygroscopic liquid at room temperature. It is soluble in water, has a pungent sweet taste, and is non-corrosive. It has little skin irritation and low toxicity. It is flammable when exposed to open flames and high heat and can form explosive mixtures with air. It is suitable for use in perfumes, cosmetics and other applications where odor sensitivity is a concern. Its molecular formula is C6H14O3.

2. Dipropylene glycol is also used in the production of unsaturated resins and saturated resins.
