Potassium iodide CAS 7681-11-0 is an ionic compound, in which iodine ion can form dark yellow precipitated silver iodide with silver ion, so silver nitrat can be used to test the existence of iodine ion. Iodine, as a component of thyroxine, is closely related to the basic metabolism of livestock and poultry, and Potassium iodide CAS 7681-11-0 participates in almost all material metabolism processes. Iodine deficiency in livestock will cause thyroid hyperplasia and hypertrophy, reduce the basic metabolic rate, and affect growth and development.
